We can now schedule you in
our office for very advanced testing that uses these new and
exciting technologies:
|
| |
GDx.
GDx stands for Glaucoma Diagnosis. It is a new computerized
test that measures the thickness of the optic nerve tissue.
It is similar to taking a picture of the inside of the eye.
It is painless, quick and does not require that your eyes
be dilated. It is used for early diagnosis of glaucoma, for
follow up of glaucoma treatment, and in early detection of
glaucoma in relatives of glaucoma patients. |
| |
Ocular
Blood Flow Analyzer. The better the blood
flow, the healthier the eye from a glaucoma standpoint. The
Blood Flow Analyzer is useful in evaluating patients with
normal tension glaucoma, which is thought to be around 20%
in the United States. Additionally, blood flow slows prior
to any evidence of background diabetic retinopathy, and reduced
ocular blood flow is a significant predictor of systemic diseases
related to arteriolar sclerotic changes. |
| |
Optical
Coherence Tomography. With the introduction
of the OCT system, technological expertise can be applied
to the diagnosis and monitoring of diseases of the retina,
iris, cornea and lens. This allows for advanced evaluation
of corneal dystrophies and degenerations, the structures that
can be involved in glaucoma, retinal and macular degenerations,
as well as other retinal problems. |
| |
| All of these tests are comfortable, quick, and
dilation is not required. |
